Supervision
LCSW Supervision in Texas
Lisa Benson, LCSW-S is a board-certified supervisor for LMSWs seeking supervision to obtain their LCSW. We offer online supervision, making it accessible to anyone residing within the state of Texas.
What to expect:
Supervisees are expected to meet with the supervisor at least once a week (4 times a month). All supervision sessions will be conducted virtually. Supervision sessions can be done individually or in group sessions. Supervision will include case reviews, LCSW exam prep, ethical discussions, discussion of various therapeutic modalities, and more. One individual session will be required at the start of supervision and then every 6 months afterward.
Requirements:
The Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council sets for the requirements for an LMSW to obtain their LCSW. Current requirements include:
100 supervision hours (conducted individually or in a group setting)
3000 working hours
At least 4 hours per week must be in a clinical setting. Clinical work requires that you assess, diagnose, and treat clients.
Can be completed in no less than 24 months
Cost:
Individual supervision - $80/hour
Group supervision - $65/hour
Documentation
Both the supervisor and supervisee are responsible for maintaining supervision records. I recommend creating a binder or online folder to track supervision hours and working hours.
